Becoming a Member
Singers Glen Volunteer Fire Company has two memberships. Everyone
can fit into one of the categories.
Regular Membership
This membership is for the person who wants to be a Firefighter or
an EMS provider. As a regular member, you may respond to
emergencies, hold offices, and attend any company functions. Regular
members must be at least 18 years of age. Junior members may start
at 16 years of age. Everyone is asked to complete the Firefighter I
course within a year of joining. We provide all the training, gear
and equipment. All you have to provide is the time and willingness
to learn and work hard.
Associate Membership
This membership is just as important as the regular membership. As
an associate member, you can help with fundraising, supporting the
Firefighters, and help with company functions. There are no
requirements to be an associate member other than wanting to help
the community in which you live.
If you are interested in getting more information about becoming a
member email us at
info@singersglenfire.org or stop by the station and talk to a
member.

Rockingham County Burn Permit
Rockingham County requires a burn permit for any open burning. This
permit helps the Fire Companies know if a fire is a control burn or
a fire that the Companies need to put out. The best part about this
permit is it’s FREE.
You can obtain a burn permit by calling the Rockingham County
Department of Fire & Rescue Office at (540) 564-3175, Monday through
Friday, between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. You may apply for a permit
up to one week prior to when you plan to burn, and you should call
for a permit at least one day prior to when you plan to burn. Burn
permits cannot be obtained after normal business hours.
